Detektiv Murdoch a chirurgyně Ogdenová jsou spiklenecky povoláni do služby kumpánem Terrencem Meyersem, prohnaným kanadským špiónem. Pohřešuje se totiž starý známý: vynálezce James Pendrick. Ten Murdochovi vysílá tajnou telegrafickou zprávu. Pro trojici hrdinů to znamená jediné – patentové války, biologické zbraně, mikrovlnné paprsky, zvrácené experimenty a šifry. Kauza přitom sahá až do nejvyšších míst, včetně prezidenta Spojených států amerických, Theodora Roosevelta. A do nebezpečné hry se vrací i „zesnulý“ vyděděnec, šílený agent Allen Clegg, který vrací úder z Jižní Ameriky. (Česká televize)
