Seržantka Makepeaceová je zraněna při pronásledování lupičů diamantů. Poručík Dempsey se tváří jako drsňák, ale zotavující se parťačku svědomitě navštíví v nemocnici s kyticí v ruce. A když jsou po jejím propuštění přivoláni k přepadení banky, zdráhá se ji vystavit zbytečnému riziku. Nervy ale pracují i lupičům zadržujícím rukojmí a situace se nebezpečně vyhrocuje.
