Charlie už dýcha sám a Alex je o niečo šťastnejšia. Síce dýcha, ale stále nikto nevie, prečo sa neprebúdza. Alex stále neúnavne hľadá príčinu. Za Dr. Kinneyovou prichádza Brian. Alex už nie je šéfchirurgička a dočasná náhrada za ňu Brianovi nestačí, potrebuje niekoho natrvalo. Musí sa nájsť jej nástupca a Brian chce na zozname uchádzačov aj Dr. Kinneyovú. Alex zatiaľ nevie, že má byť trvalo nahradená. Je prijatá Dr. Kendra Wattová, ktorá je preslávená svojou šou. Dnes tu ale nie je ako doktorka, ale ako pacientka. Požila totiž akési hríbiky, čo jej spôsobilo vážny problém. Aby prežila, potrebuje transplantáciu pečene. Charlieho duch ju vidí a rozpráva sa s ňou. Lenže Kendra umrie a jej duch je stále v nemocnici. Medzitým má Alex pacienta, ktorému spadla na brucho činka. Síce ho to už nebolí, ale niečo cíti. Alex mu zatlačí na bradavku a objaví sa červený výtok. Mohlo by ísť o branie steroidov. Joel vykonáva operáciu a roztrasie sa mu ruka, nemôže pokračovať. Stále ho bolí ruka z onej bitky v bare a potrebuje ešte pár dní voľna. Dr. Kinneyová ho ale ihneď zamestná, má jej pomáhať na prednáške. (TV Markíza)
