V místním parku byla nalezena mrtvá žena. Jak se brzy ukáže, jedná se o příslušnici námořnictva a dceru významné senátorky, Amandu. Právě senátorka do vyšetřování od prvního okamžiku vstupuje. Dokonce k týmu nasadí svého člověka, dr. Milese Bauera. S tím má problém patolog Jimmy, který se s mužem zná už z doby studií. Jimmy, jenž se při vyšetřování drží faktů, se postaví proti Bauerově teorii o času úmrtí Amandy. To vede k tomu, že mezi Jimmym a Bauerem vznikne spor. Za Jimmyho se postaví ředitel Vance.
