Potomek původních obyvatel (indiánů) si dělá nárok na půdu města Cabot Cove. Tím uvrhá město do chaosu. Když je zavražděn místní průmyslník, všechny důkazy poukazují na předpokládaného nového vlastníka půdy.V den založení Cabot Cove přijíždí do města potomek původních obyvatel a předkládá zde kopii pozemkového grantu, který z něj dělá majitele pozemku, na kterém je město postaveno. Mladý muž George Longbow následně navštíví městskou radu, na které mu vyhrožuje Addison Langley. Ten si před časem koupil část zdejší půdy, kterou plánoval později zpeněžit prodejem hotelovému projektantovi. Když je pak Langley nalezen zavražděný, Longbow se stává jasným podezřelým. Jessica je však přesvědčena o jeho nevinně a snaží se najít skutečného vraha.(Radek273)
