Jessica se vrací do New Yorku za svým synovcem a jeho přítelkyní a navštěvují podnik, ve kterém pracuje. Pak je však v restauraci zabit zdejší zaměstnanec.Jessica je v New Yorku, aby navštívila svého synovce Gradyho a setkala se s jeho snoubenkou Donnou Mayberryovou. Zároveň chce vidět restauraci, do které před časem investovala. Rychle však zjišťuje, jak může být podnikání newyorských restaurací bezohledné. Už při vstupu s nimi nešetrně zachází zdejší zaměstnanec Chaz Crewe. A ani pozdější zážitky celkový dojem na restauraci nelepší. Následující den je Crewe nalezen v kuchyni mrtvý, a Jessica tak musí řešit další vraždu. Mimoto je také potřeba se věnovat oběma snoubencům, mezi kterými to trochu skřípe.(Radek273)
