Smrt výstřední stařenky přináší starosti Jessice, která byla určena za vykonavatele poslední vůle. V domě zemřelé, jak praví legenda, kdysi přespal Benedikt Arnold a dokonce je tu prý ukryt nějaký "poklad"?Když zemře samotářská Tilly Adamsová, několik lidí spíše kouká po její pozůstalosti, než aby smutnili. Jessica je určena vykonavatelkou poslední vůle a společně se Sethem Hazlettem začnou ihned katalogizovat rozsáhlý majetek obsahující mnoho hodnotných starožitností. Místní prodejce starožitností Benny Tibbles má v úmyslu majetek dostat do svých rukou, stejně tak jako jeho bratr Kevin, který bratra již mnohokrát pro velký zisk podvedl. O dům se dále zajímá také Angličan Alastair Andrews, který je velkým obdivovatelem Benedikta Arnolda, jenž tu podle legendy kdysi pobýval. Plánuje dům koupit, rozložit a přemístit do Anglie. Když však v domě naleznou Bennyho Tibblese, Jessica má další vraždu k řešení. Bohužel existuje dlouhá řada podezřelých.(Radek273)
